December Newsletter 2019

Winter is almost here, Happy December!

Christmas is less than 3 weeks away and Our Shop Tree is up.  This is our 5th and final year for our “Help Us Decorate Our Tree” event.  Please join in the fun!

Here is what you do:  Make an ornament with the theme “5” in it.  (A star shaped something, A tree made from 5 little thread spools or bobbins, a wreath of yo-yos with 5 little red buttons).   Make sure to put your name and the year on the back of it.  Bring it in, fill out your gift tag,  and be entered into our drawing.  This year there will be 5 very special things in the prize basket with a basket total value of $75-150 depending on how many folks participate. We will also donate $5 for each ornament we receive to the Deer Park Food Bank.  The more the merrier and the better the prize basket will be.  So, get your thinking cap on, let your creative juices flow and join the fun.  Remember 1 ornament per person please.

Christmas gift ideas…we have gotten in some really lovely Sewing themed jewelry.  We have a charm bracelet and 3 different necklaces.  All $30 or under.  They would make great gifts for those who love to sew or quilt and we have Sewing/Quilting Advent Calendars filled with great sewing notions.

In the Kids Santa Helper Workshop there will be 2 Saturdays we will be doing this and each has a different project.  This is for kids 10 and up please.  PRE-registration is REQUIRED. The cost is: $10 to make 2 gifts.

I have been thinking about starting a Book and Block Club.  Would any of you be interested?  It would start in Feb.  Meeting 1 afternoon or evening a month to work on our block and talk about the book.  It would be based on the Kilts and Quilts book series.  Please let me know ASAP if you would be interested as I would need to order everything before Dec. 1 in order for us to put it all together.  I would like to have at least 6 people if at all possible, not sure on the total cost as yet since I’m not sure if anyone would be interested.  But, if we do have enough interest I can get those costs fairly quickly so that you can budget it in.
