Quilt Retreat update

Good News everyone!

We have been asked to extend the deadline for signing up for the retreat and after some work we have managed to get it extended to the 31st. There are still a few spots available but we can’t guarantee any for too much longer. Just a reminder of what it is.

This retreat can either be a “I want to work on my own thing” or “Let’s make that!”  The “My own thing” will allow you to work on whatever you wish to bring along with you or purchase from our little “Pop up shop”, while the “Let’s make that!” will include 1 of 2 kit projects (Original design that you will have first chance at) for either 2 Complete Lovely Kitchen Gift Sets (includes all supplies needed to make 2 complete sets) or 1 large Throw Sized Quilt (Includes fabric for top & Binding, pattern, thread) to make while you are there.  Samples will be up in the shop by July 20th.  Deadline for sign up will be Aug. 25

    Cost will be:

“My own thing” = $150.00 (includes accommodations, all meals, work area + evening Snacks)

“Let’s Make That!” = $225.50. (Includes accommodations, all meals, work area, evening Snacks, 1 kit and instruction).  We will have someone to instruct both workshop projects.  Space is limited, so please sign up early.  If you have a child or Grandchild you would like to bring, they are welcome as well, but all fees apply for each person attending no matter of age.  We have a complete supply list you will be given when you sign up and pay.

Arrival will be no earlier than 10am on the 19th, with check out 3pm on the 22nd.  Please know that with us being allowed to use this facility, we will ALL have to sign up to help with chores.  Meals will be provided, but Twila MUST HAVE a list when you sign up of any food allergies, special dietary needs or restrictionsThere is an extra charge of $10 per person for Gluten Free & Vegan meals. These are required by the facility if they are to provide food for us.  Refusal to do so will result in us being unable to assure that you have food you can eat provided for the meal times we are there.  Please don’t be shy about this!  No one will have the information you provide except Twila and the folks required to know at the facility and will only be used in case of emergency.  Meals that will be included are a sack lunch on Thursday at noon.  Full Meals: 8am Breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Noon Lunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  5pm Dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

We all will be Assigned dorms by the Facility, so if you have special needs please let Twila know this as well when you sign up.  We will have a large well lit space for sewing, demos and are even planning to take a couple of our Handi Quilter Long Arms (1 sit down, 1 Stand up) up to have on hand for use (please note: if you want to use 1 of them you will need to have training ahead of time as we will not have enough time up there to train and allow for usage as well) Rental fees will apply if you are renting, but 10 minute test drives are free.

Have you taught Quilting, Piecing or Appliqué before or are you interested in giving it a try?  Please contact Twila if you are, to set up a get together time so we can talk about it.  It’s a great way to meet new people, Share the love of Quilting and earn some money to support your habit.

Sorry for the extra email this month but just wanted to let everyone know.

Thanks,

Twila Prociw
