The weather has backed off a bit and the trees are budding like crazy in our yard. How about yours? I know that the sunshine, flower beds and garden are all beckoning to us, but don't forget about those Quilt Show projects that need to be finished for this years shows. We have made a change.....We are doing Sneak Peek Saturday! This will give a peek at what is new in the shop each week as well as the manufacturer and/or collection name. So look on Facebook or our web-page to see what's new. There are so many new things Twila brought back from Trends and the wholesale house. Over a dozen new batiks, almost 3 dozen other fabrics, lots of new toys, goodies and gadgets. Even some lovely new scissor gift sets.
Due to having full to over flowing Basic Beginner classes we are offering it once again, but there is only 1 spot left! If you would like to learn all the basics from the bolt up, cutting and more to continuous binding this is the class for you. Classes start in April and finish in May.
We are so excited to announce that we have a new instructor. Welcome Marji Bobiak who will be teaching 2 Wool classes. Yes, I said wool. Since Twila is so allergic to wool the classes will be on days she is not in the shop. This would be Thursdays. Haven't firmed up dates yet, but you can see samples in the shop. We re hoping to get her to try her hand a some other classes too if time permits. Marji is a retired nurse, piecing marvel and wonderful longarm quilter...not to mention a super fun and fantastic person to be around. One of THE most encouraging people we have ever met.
April:
Apr 1 - 5 9:30 -12:30 Kids Can Sew Camp! We will again be holding camp for kids 8 and up to come in (those under 12 must have someone 16 or older with them) to learn the basics of quilting start to finish. The kids will be making a 3 piece pillow case and twin sized Rail Fence quilt. $125 for 15 hours of class time and includes ALL supplies as well as Twila quilting their quilts The kids leave with a Finished quilt! Registration deadline noon March 30.
April 6, 8-11:30 WSQ Yard Sale This year it will be at Spokane Falls Community College 3410 W. Fort George Weight Dr. Spokane, WA Student Union Building #17. Free parking.
April 12 & 19, May 3 & 12, 9:30-12:30 Basic Beginning Quilting- 3. Learn all the basics from learning about fabric, quilting tools, vocabulary, choosing a pattern, cutting, piecing, pressing all the way through binding your first quilt. $60 + book and supplies.
April 13 9:30 - 3:30 Mariner's Compass. This will be a paper pieced 12" compass that can be put into a quilt, Wall hanging or table topper. $45 includes copy of the template.
April 25 - 27 American Sewing Guild Shop Hop. There will be some fun new things this year. So plan to join in the Fun. (If you aren't planning to get involved and would be interested in helping us in our shop please COME IN, NO Email Or Texts please, to talk with Twila about it. We will need at least 1 person per day) YES WE STILL NEED HELP! You can earn store credit for the hours you help.
Longarm Education training. This is for anyone thinking about getting Any Longarm machine or if you already have one.
Classes are $45 for each 1/2 day class or $80 for 2. $75 for the full day Art and Stitch Class.

If you are taking a break from your sewing to work outside, It's a great time to get you scissors sharpened and your machine it's annual servicing. We have Scissor and Pinking Shear sharpening available all the time in shop as well as Sewing machine cleaning, maintenance and repair On Site by Mr. Sew-Fix-it himself and his trusty assistant.
$70 for domestic machines. $80 Sergers and Longarm cleaning services starting at $115. Evaluation of machines $20. Restoration prices based on each machine and what all is needed. Repair Service $60 per hour plus parts.
