Greetings fellow Quilters!
We hope your new year has started of wonderfully and we would like to say "Thank you!" to everyone who has come in this first month of our new business. It has been a very busy last several months for us and it is such a joy to meet so many new people and see others we have known for years coming in to check out the shop. A special thank you to all those who made Ornaments for our tree. Congratulations to MaryAnn Naylor on winning the drawing for our Grand Opening Gift Basket!
Monday we got some new Batiks in. They are called Softies and are calmer in coloring, there is even a Dragonfly print. We also received some new bag/purse/tote patterns, added more books & notions, Camo Fleece for him and her as well as 5 lovely 108" wide flannel backing.

We have several classes booked and need feed back on a couple that have been requested. Class size limit is 8, except the "Let's Learn Together" in which 1 adult & 1 child share a machine and table which equal a total of 1 sign-up.
Feb. 6th & 13th 9:30-12:30 Naomi Hall is teaching Paper pieced Double Wedding Ring. This is a great class for those of us who haven't gotten to try this type of piecing before. The cost is $50
Feb. 12th 10:00-12:00 Roberta Schroeder will teach an easy beginner Bowl Shaped Potholder. These are wonderful for taking those hot bowls out of the micro-wave. The cost $20 includes kit.
Feb. 18th & 25th 9:30-12:30 Kay Sargent will be teaching the Lovely 3-D Dance of the Dragonflies quilt class. This is a confident intermediate class as it is very detailed with lots of small pieces. The cost is $50 + the Pattern.
Feb. 26th 10:00-2:00 Roberts will be teaching Blossom. This is a Quilt in a Day pattern including a plastic 4 1/2" Square up ruler.
$40.00 + Pattern.
March 10th 9:30-12:30 Roberta will be teaching A Bit of Country Charm Table topper. This is another great beginner class and uses a 5" Charm pack. $30 + Pattern
I received requests for a "Mommy & Me" classes. If you are interested in a class for you and a child, teenager & younger sibling, Aunt/Uncle & niece/nephew, Grandparent & Grandchild, Mom/Dad & child class, please come in or call and let me know what days and times work best for you and I will get it scheduled. this will be a basic beginner class at a 2 for 1 price since you will work on a project together. This will be a "Let's Learn Together" class and I will be happy to teach it if we have enough interest.
Any other classes you might be interested in having? Please let us know and we will try to make it happen. Also, we wanted to let everyone know that during Spring Break we will be having "Kid's Can Sew!" Camp. From 9:30-12:00 will be ages 8-11 (must be accompanied by someone 16 or over) and 1:00-3:30 will be ages 12-18. The kids will take home completed projects the first 2 days with days 3-5 to complete a larger project. Price is $110. per kid and includes all, instruction, patterns, fabric and batting. All they need to bring is a machine and their favorite color of thread.
Jim has been getting going on the sewing machine service & repair. Remember on Saturdays he offers a pre sign-up for 2 hour annual Service appointment which includes a 49 point check, complete cleaning and lubrication for just $55. Or you can drop them by any time and he is doing a 1 week turn around unless it needs repair. He will call and tell you when your machine is ready or if he found anything, what he suggests for fixes and gets your authorization before proceeding with ordering parts or repairs. Don't forget Scissor and Rotary Blade sharpening starts next week!
